چکیده

Introduction or decades educators have recognized that learners bring a variety of degrees of knowledge and of learning preferences to learning environments. These recognized differences in learning preferences have given rise to a number of strategies which have resulted in limited success in creating learning environments in which the strengths of the user are used to enrich the learning experience. The failure of this knowledge to provide marked improvements in the instructional delivery process is often attributable to the fact that the implementation of these strategies is performed with one individual acting in the role of facilitator. That is, one teacher, who by definition has a preferred learning style, is often expected to attend to the myriad learning styles of an entire class. Research has shown that to address these differences in this manner is a task for which most humans are unable to perform.

The distribution of pedagogical roles in a Multi-agent Learning Environment

We describe a learning environment (MEMOLAB) that illustrates the distribution of roles among several agents. The learner solves problems in interaction with an expert, i.e. an agent who is able to solve the same problems through the same interface. The degree of assistance provided by the expert is tuned by another agent, the tutor, which monitors the interaction. MEMOLAB includes several tuto...

General practitioners and their learning styles.

Continuing medical education sessions are often poorly attended by general practitioners. Measuring the Effectiveness of Faculty Facilitation Training in Problem-Based Learning in a Medical School

This study examined the effectiveness of a faculty training program for problem-based learning (PBL) facilitation. A multi-level approach was used, following Kirkpatrick’s levels for assessing training effectiveness. Data were obtained from (1) tutor training workshop evaluations, (2) a survey of tutors’ attitudes and beliefs, (3) changes in tutors’ perceptions of their teaching styles through ...

Profiles of effective tutors in problem-based learning: scaffolding student learning.

OBJECTIVES Research on tutoring in problem-based learning has not focused so far on the variation in tutoring and how this variation can be interpreted by conceptions about effective tutoring. DESIGN This study focuses on the profiles of tutors generated by means of an instrument, the so-called Tutor Intervention Profile (TIP), and tries to determine which profiles are more or less effective....

Architecture for the adaptation of learning paths based on ontologies and Bayesian networks ISSN 2319 - 5975

Several researches in the field of education have shown that taking into account learning styles has drastically improved the quality of teaching / learning. The adaptation of the course into the profiles and preferences of learners requires the collection of more information on learners, learning styles and educational resources. To identify the learning style of each learner, the architecture...
